The Village Plan Questionnaire Questionnaire results and a Next Steps PDF of next actions from survey (please be aware this is 3Mb) document’s are attached here. Next Steps summarises the initial actions discussed by focus groups at the meeting on the 9th December. There was alot of enthusiasm within the attendees of the meeting and a great deal discussed that as a community we would like to achieve.
The big message for all from the evening is that more volunteers will be needed to get things off the ground.
Action is now ongoing from the focus groups and will be discussed at the USRA meetings which will take place monthly on a Tuesday from 26th January in the Village Hall at 8pm. All residents are welcome so please come along and get involved in your area of interest.
If you cannot attend the meeting but want to get involved please contact the Secretary at secretary@usra.org.uk

On 18th December Sophy and myself (Faye) visited the children’s ward at the Queens Medical Centre to deliver the books and DVDs that USRA donated from the raffle and door money raised at the recent Christmas Gift Fayre. We would like to pass on a huge thanks from the children staying on the ward and the nurses & care co-ordinators who look after some of the most poorly children in the midlands.
The official photographer was there to take this picture…during the week he had been busy snapping away because the children had visits from the Nottingham Rugby Club and Notts County’s players (including Sven!) and next week will see the arrival of the Nottingham Forest’s players. So we were in good company.
The nurses said that for the DVDs were perfect for the children to keep them entertained during their long stays and for the ones who are very poorly, sometimes all they want is someone to read to them. It was very sad to think that some of the children are going to be away from home this Christmas, so on Monday when the children get to see all the presents for the first time you can be sure that it will be a happy day!
So all that is left to say is thank you once again for supporting the events that help us at USRA to make a difference, not just for the residents locally but for others too.

The issue of the land (public areas) transfer from David Wilson Homes (DWH) to Rushcliffe Borough Council is still ongoing. Of particular concern is the lack of maintenance of the trees and shrubs which are in very poor condition and also the state of the pergolas which are deteriorating at an alarming rate. Over the last six months Georgia Moore (Vice Chair of the Radcliffe-on-Trent Parish Council) has been lobbying on the residents behalf with the Borough Council to get them to take over the care of the site before any further deterioration occurs
As part of the original agreement DWH are required to pay a large sum to the Council on transfer of the land. As no date was specified in the agreement over when the land must transfer we are left in a position, where in theory at least, a handover might never occur. Through Georgia’s lobbying the Borough Council have now assigned a senior officer to review the position and try to move the adoption forward.
If you have any questions or views on this issue you can contact Georgia on 0115 933 5141.
